The Dawg Days of Summer is a kids-only mountain bike and foot race taking place at Cannonsburg Ski Area on Sunday, July 30th, 2023! This race is for all kids ages 2-15 and promotes healthy living, sportsmanship, athleticism, and the importance of being outside. More importantly, the Dawg Days of Summer will be a full day of celebrating active kids!
In addition to all the awesome races, there will be a kids adventure zone! The adventure zone will be filled with carnival games, inflatables, a healthy living expo, and other fun activities for the whole family!

Cannonsburg Ski Area is located at 6800 Cannonsburg Rd NE, Belmont, MI 49306.
Packet pickup:
PLEASE ARRIVE AT LEAST ONE HOUR BEFORE RACE TO CHECK-IN.
Packet pickup will be located inside of the main lodge. Look for the registration signs. Please remove all existing number plates on your child’s bike beforehand to speed up the registration process. We will be giving out a new number plate with a new timing chip. All racers need a number plate on the front of their bike before racing.
Start times:
The start times are listed below. We ask that racers start lining up 10 minutes before their start time as we will be giving out final instructions etc. The race start will be at the base of the hill…look for the timing arch in front of the quad lift shack!
Beginner: 10 am
Intermediate: 11 am
Strider: 12:00 pm (approx 15 minutes long)
Beginner Pedalers: 12:30pm (approx 15 min long)
Elite: 1:00pm (2 laps)
Expert: 1:05 (1 lap)
2:30pm: 1 mile running race
Mandatory Gear:
Helmets and closed toe shoes are mandatory for all racers. Safety is our number one priority and we ask that all adults riding bikes wear helmets as well. THANK YOU!!!

Food:
Cannonsburg will have food available inside the main lodge starting at 10:00 am (burgers, hot dogs, chili cheese fries etc). They will also have adult beverages, sports drinks and soda. It will remain open until 3 pm. The Sweet Spot Ice Cream Bar will be open from 10am-9pm. Stop by for Dole Whip, Soft Serve, Flurries and other sweet treats!
Award Ceremony:
Awards will be presented to the top 3 finishers (boys and girls) in the beginner pedaler, beginner, strider, intermediate, expert/elite divisions and running races. We will have real time results thanks to Ignite Your Event timing.
Duck Race:
For those of you who purchased the add on, the Duck Race will take place at 1pm by the main bridge. Ducks will be assigned at the registration table when you check in for your race.
Code of Conduct:
We are incredibly excited to support youth cycling and get more kids on bikes. The Dawg Days of Summer is all about encouraging kids to do their very best. They are brave. They are courageous. They are strong. Bring those cowbells, noise makers and invite family and friends...we can’t wait to cheer for each and every one of them!
Fun Zones: There will be a temporary tattoo station, face painting and bouncy house at the base of the hill. It’s going to be a great day!
