The Trail Tigers is a trail running team for girls ages 5-14. This 8-week program is designed to empower young girls, teach them trail stewardship, and inspire a love for running! Girls will run once a week with their coaches to build strength both physically and mentally. We believe that anyone can be a runner! Every practice will be different and focus on a new skill attributed to running. One day girls may run the trails and play pacing games, another day they may work on speed by running the slopes!

Program Coordinators are Certified Running Coaches through ASFA

When registering please click on the start date. Tuesday practices start on June 14th and Thursday evening practices start on June 16th.  

 

Tuesday Team - 10am - 11am (starts June 14th, ends August 2nd)

Registration:

The registration cost for this 8-week trail running team is $200. Register for one team only. Please fill out all of the information, so we can contact you if needed. Registration will be open until we meet team capacity.

Tuesday practices are at 10am and start on June 14th. They end on August 2nd. Thursday practices are at 6pm and start on June 16th. They end on August 4th

Parent Participation:

The Trail Tigers are independent, adventurous, and fierce but let’s face it, every now and then it’s nice to wave at mom and dad during a run. Since each practice is only an hour long we recommend that a parent or family member remain on-site. While the Trail Tigers are out exploring the trails, you’ll be able to hang out on the deck and get a treat and a drink from The Sweet Spot!

Weather:

Just like real tigers, our Tigers will run rain, shine, or heat wave (all safely of course)! Practices will be canceled if weather conditions are dangerous and parents will be notified as soon as possible.

Gear:

We encourage everyone to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout training. Our feet are our most important piece of gear when it comes to running, so sturdy, close toed running shoes are a must! Wear clothes that you are comfortable to move in and dress for the weather. Don’t forget your sun protection: hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, etc.

Warm up

Getting our body and mind ready for a run is almost as important as the run! We will get stretched out and get muscles moving to stay injury free. Trail Tigers will learn the importance of taking things slow to become fast!

Run

Every week will bring something new! We aim to keep running fun and something to look forward to every day. Gratitude runs, team pacing, interval games, and singing are just some of the ways we can transform running into something exciting and engaging!

Cool down

After their run, Trail Tigers will cool down with some stretching and a well deserved snack to refuel depleted energy.
