Cannonsburg Canicross- April 16th, 2023
Cannonsburg Canicross is a 5K trail running race where runners and dogs compete together. The race will take place at Cannonsburg Ski Area on April 16th, 2023. There will be several different divisions, allowing all skill levels and abilities to compete. There will even be a 1-mile fun run/ walk for dogs that prefer to take breaks, sniff and explore over competing.
Regardless of what division the dog and runners compete in, there will be pup cups waiting for every dog participant at the finish line. This canine friendly race will have other activities including a pup photo booth, games the whole family can enjoy and food & beverages available on the deck.
What is Canicross?
Canicross means cross country running with dogs. Canicross is a sport where humans and dogs compete together! Dogs are hooked up to a special harness and attached to the runner’s harness for hands-free running. Canicross races originated in Europe, but are growing in popularity in Northern America!
Food and beverages, for dogs and humans, will be available on the Deck!
Divisions
10:00 am- 5K Competitive- Runners in this division must have Canicross approved human and dog harnesses.
10:15 am- 5K Fun Run
11:30 am- 1 Mile Fun Run/ Walk
